EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY:

We believe each child is a unique individual. We are sensitive to their social, emotional, intellectual and physical needs. We provide developmentally appropriate programs that focus on the process of learning and help children enjoy successful experiences. We encourage not just learning but also the love of learning. We believe all children have the power to learn, are curious and creative and can succeed.

We believe in providing a physical environment that is safe, clean, healthy and designed for children. Classrooms are arranged to offer challenging play and learning choices at a range of developmental levels.

Our curriculum incorporates what neuroscience confirms through studying the development of children’s brains in the early years; children learn best in an environment where they have an opportunity to explore and investigate, with

educators who know how to facilitate their learning through appropriate activities, learning centers, choice time, and individualized educational plans for each child. The most natural and enjoyable learning experiences are created through planned and purposeful activities with educators who challenge children by asking questions, introducing new materials, and suggesting ideas for more complex cognitive thought.

We believe that the strength of our program is the dedication of our teaching staff. We support our educators with training, resources, and freedom to create a unique learning experience for children. We provide many opportunities for teachers to share ideas and grow professionally through tuition reimbursement programs and continuing education.

We believe parents are the most significant adults in a child’s life. We strive to create mutual respect between parents and teachers; a partnership for the benefit of the child. We encourage daily communication between parents and center staff.

Our Curriculum:

TodayCare Children’s Centers utilizes The Creative Curriculum, published by Teaching Strategies. This award-winning curriculum for infants through Kindergarten helps teachers build children’s confidence, creativity, and critical thinking skills.

The Creative Curriculum for Infants, Toddlers, and Twos supports teachers and caregivers as they create daily routines and meaningful learning experiences for the youngest learners. The instructional tools offer detailed guidance for providing intentional, responsive care, along with researched-based objectives.

The Creative Curriculum for Preschool is everything that teachers love: a comprehensive, research-based curriculum that features exploration and discovery as a way of learning. The components are rich with ideas and practical examples for teachers to use in their classroom experiences.

The Foundation helps teachers create a high-quality learning environment and build a thorough understanding of best practices. Daily Resources help teachers plan and manage every moment of their day.  A new volume, Science and Technology, Social Studies & the Arts, helps teachers encourage children to make and test hypothesis, develop skills for using technology, explore their world and engage their creative thinking skills.

Teaching Strategies has been an advocate for the early childhood education community for over 30 years. Its curriculum packages, assessment tools, and teacher training resources are used in federal child care programs - including Head Start and the Military Child Care programs - and in numerous pre-K programs within Public School Districts. Their resources are not only research-based, they are research-proven and validated by independent researchers.
